The 5th plenary meeting of RAWFIE (Road-, Air-, and Water- based Future Internet Experimentation) is being held in Tremestieri Etneo (Catania), at IES Solutions premises. RAWFIE is a project funded by the European Commission (Horizon H2020 programme) under the Future Internet Research Experimentation (FIRE+) initiative that aims at providing testing research facilities for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The project introduces a unique platform which integrates numerous testbeds of Unmanned Vehicles (UxVs), for research experimentation in vehicular, aerial and maritime environments (UGV, UAV, USV). The RAWFIE platform will support experimenters through the availability of smart tools which will allow them to define, launch and monitor experiments in the domains of IoT, networking, sensing and navigation, among the others.
The meeting started on June the 19th and will end on June the 21st, 2017. Main topics addressed during the plenary meeting, are the discussion on the technical activities for the finalisation of the second prototype of the platform and the setup of the Master Plan for the 2nd project’s review preparation.
